While everyone comes to NODE for a jolly good time, we have to have some policies in place so that your "fun" doesn't take away from anyone else having a good time. That being the case, anyone who walks into NODE agrees to abide by our etiquette policies. Anyone who can't follow these rules will either be warned or be asked to leave. If anyone insists on constantly breaking our policies, they will be permanently banned. Yes, we have permanently banned people for being jackass's. If you're a member and are permanently banned, you will not receive a refund of your membership dues. We're here to look out for the majority of our members, and will not have one screw ball ruin it for everyone. - Please keep your noise level to a reasonable volume. Disruptive shouting and outbursts will not be tolerated. While we know games can get heated, please try and be courteous to your fellow gamers.
- Absolutely NO OUTSIDE FOOD at the computers. You can bring outside food in, we encourage it, but DO NOT take it to the computers. We clean and disinfect our computers daily, but sitting down at a computer after the dood before you just at a quadruple whopper is gross. Any food purchased within NODE you can eat at the computers. If you haven't noticed, all the snacks we sell are anti-grease and minimal mess.
- Other then current game patches, NO DOWNLOADING OF ANY SOFTWARE without the expressed permission of NODE staff. While we have extensive measures to prevent unauthorized downloading, and a reeeaaally good antivirus, we prefer that you not download crap onto our computers. Believe it or not, after almost 3 years, we have yet to get 1 computer virus on any of our computers, let's all practice safe computing and not catch any virtually transmitted diseases from other slutty computers on the internet.
- No abusing the gear. Again, we understand games get heated, but please do not bang, throw, swing, punch, ninja kick, or anything to harm our hardware. IF we find that you can't control yourself from doing so, you'll either be asked to leave, or will be asked to pay for the hardware in question, regardless if you actually broke it or not. If you refuse, we'll most likely ban your account permanently.
- Rearranging furniture. Odd, yes, but it happens. Please don't rearrange our furniture, they like it just fine where they are.
- DO make friendly conversation with the people around you. There's a reason why most of our computers aren't butt up agianst a wall. We think you'll be pleasantly suprised to find that NODE members are friendly and ready to engage in a good conversation about what they're playing, etc.
- Clothing... wear it please. No shirt, no service. No shoes, no service. No pants, no service. No popped collar, good for you.
- Hygiene. Let's not kid ourselves, the gaming community has a higher then average occurance of people with less then average hygiene. While it's almost impossible to judge yourself whether or not you smell, please try your best to recognize when you might need a shower before you come and sit in room with other people for 5 hours straight. If other members complain to us, please don't take offense if we ask you to move your seat, or leave entirely.
- Wash your hands please. No one wants to use a dirty mouse.
- HAVE FUN AND BE SOCIAL. NODE members are a great breed. They all know what they're talking about when it comes to the games they play, and usually you'll find that you have things other then video games in common. Come hang out even if you don't feel like playing, you're always welcome!
